Can I keep using a slightly bent key?
This is not recommended since this makes the key more likely to break during the locking and unlocking of the door. In this way, the blade can remain inside the lock and pose the need for a more serious repair. It is best if you have the bent key repaired or replaced right away to avoid trouble.
What is the strike?
The strike is the metal plate mounted on the door jamb right opposite of the lock. Although there are several variations and types of strike plates, the most common ones are in the form of a small metal plate with a small hole in the middle (where the bolt of the door lock comes in). It is screwed on the jamb and as our professionals say they must be perfectly aligned with the bolt.
